Humdinger Gains New Corporate Support

Uni-Guide Products by Humdinger, Philadelphia, PA, announced that Allied Resource Corporation, Wayne, PA, has acquired an ownership stake in Humdinger. Humdinger was formed in 1998 to develop and commercialize a die set employing an internal guidance system rather than the traditional post-and-bushing guidance. Allied Resource holds a portfolio of companies within five business units, including high-performance ceramics and metal-based specialty chemicals.
Balzers Adds Fourth Rapid Coating System

Balzers, Inc., Amherst, NY, provider of PVD tool coatings for wear protection, has upgraded a fourth coating facility, in Brunswick, OH, to include its Rapid Coating System (RCS). The RCS, used for all existing and planned Balinit coatings including Futura Nano and X.Treme, will allow the Brunswick facility to fulfill all orders in-house rather than have to send tools to other centers. Headed to Toll Processor

Herr-Voss, Callery, PA, a subsidiary of Genesis Worldwide II Inc., has contracted with Maryland Metals, Baltimore, MD, to supply a Strand Extensioner slitting and packaging line. The toll processor will use the line to slit high-grade stainless-steel coils 64-in. wide by 72-in. OD, of sheet to 0.250-in. thick, for the food, medical, transportation and computer industries. Slit material will be loaded to the packaging line for banding and wrapping.
