AMT Product Directory Available on Disk
Monday, June 16, 2003
The updated AMT Product Directory is now available from AMT--the Association for Manufacturing Technology. It includes information on machine tools, manufacturing machinery and related equipment built by AMT members. This year the directory is available only on CD-ROM. Introductions, instructions for use and product categories are presented in eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Portuguese. The actual directory is in English.
The CD-ROM provides a link to a continually updated version of directory information, available at www.amtonline.org
. Like the CD-ROM, this version allows users to search by product category, state or company name. Links to member websites and e-mail contacts are provided in both versions.
To order the directory, available for free to members and nonmembers, contact the AMT marketing and public relations department at 703/827-5219 or at email@example.com.

Elrae Industries Adds 600-Ton Minster Press
Friday, June 13, 2003
Elrae Industries, Inc., Alden, NY, a producer of stamped and rollformed components, custom assemblies and retail-ready products for a variety of industries, has added a new 600-press, a Minster Series E2 Hevistamper. The press expands the company’s stamping capability from a previous maximum of 330 tons. It will be housed in Elrae’s recently completed 26,000-sq.-ft. plant addition designed with a higher-ton press in mind, and brings the plant’s total size to 76,000 sq. ft.
The press features a 120 by 60-in. bed for flexibility, stability and precision, with rapid and exact shutheight. It reportedly is ideal for heavy progressive-die work and other difficult jobs. The press’ production management control system allows fully integrated production for superb quality control, according to Elrae officials. Target date for production on the new press is early August 2003.
