Team Project Saves Bettcher $150,000 per Year

Bettcher Manufacturing, Amherst, OH, a manufacturer of precision metal stampings, will save more than $150,000 annually as a result of the first project completed by a team trained in the Employee Involvement Process. A team of 10 employees participated in the training program, provided by Workplace Dynamics, concentrating on developing task skills to help identify and resolve problems. The team brainstormed 15 projects, meeting weekly. Cost savings materialized when the team improved material flow to eliminate operator downtime.

Mech-Tronics Earns ISO 9002

Metal fabricator and stamper Mech-Tronics Corp., Melrose Park, IL, has been certified to the ISO 9002, 1994 standard. The 100-plus-employee contract manufacturing facility specializes in precision metal fabrication, aluminum dip brazing and photo-chemical etching. Recent capital improvements include a new 58-station Amada high-speed hydraulic turret punch press and a FabriVision inspection system.

Bosch Rexroth Corp. provides website surfers with self-service access to in-depth information, extranet and e-commerce applications and customized services at
www.boschrexroth-us.com. The portal gives users information about the company's drive and control products, technical data, cutaways and specifications. The extranet allows customers to access protected areas of the site to view project status. E-commerce capability allows customers to place and track orders for products or repairs.
