OMCG Installs Wire-EDM Machine for Tool Cutting

OMCG NA, Bensenville, IL, a supplier of slideforming and CNC wire- and strip-forming machines, has installed an Agie wire-EDM machine for the manufacture of tooling. The unit can cut tool steels to 4 in. thick, and taper tools for compound bending. It also will easily cut the complicated profiles of plate cams to allow the fine-tuning of the multislide-forming process. OMCG machines, manufactured by OMCG Spa of Italy, can handle strip to 4-in. wide and wire to 5/8-in. dia.;

Bosch Rexroth to Acquire Fluid-Filter Manufacturer

Drives and controls manufacturer Bosch Rexroth announced its intentions to acquire K. and H. Eppensteiner, Ketsch, Germany, a manufacturer of fluid filters for installation in hydraulic and lubrication-oil systems. Adding the products--which purify and recycle hydraulic and lubrication oil—to its resume will allow Rexroth to expand its hydraulic-system, service and retrofitting business.

Faro Technologies, Inc., Lake Mary, FL, a manufacturer of portable, computerized measurement devices and software, has acquired an exclusive license from Dimensional Photonics Intl., Inc. (DPI), Wilmington, MA, to develop, manufacture and sell DPI’s high-speed high-accuracy digital shape scanners. The transaction provides rights to more than 20 existing and pending patents related to DPI’s proprietary technology—accordion fringe interferometry—that creates a 3D digital model of a physical object’s surface by immersing it in patterns of light.
