Rockford Toolcraft Expands, Again

While celebrating its 30th anniversary, Rockford Toolcraft Inc., Rockford, IL, a tool-and-die and metal-stamping company, has announced its 17th building expansion. Its new 30,000-sq.-ft. addition gives the firm a total of 275,000 sq. ft. in two buildings. The expansion will soon house two giant Verson stamping presses that will run together end to end for a combined tonnage of 4400 tons and a left-to-right bed length of 27 ft. Providing material to the presses will be a new Feed Lease (Rochester Hills, MI) coil line capable of feeding high-strength steel to 0.50-in. thick by 60 in. wide. The building addition will also house a new tempering furnace, from BeaverMatic, Inc., Rockford, IL.
Double-Loop Slitting Line Headed to Berlin Metals

To boost its processing and distribution capabilities for tin-mill products and stainless-steel strip, Berlin Metals LLC, Hammond, IN, has ordered a 60-in.-wide double-loop coil-slitting and automatic slit-coil packaging line from Braner USA, Franklin Park, IL. The line, which accommodates rapid tool changes, can operate at speeds to 1200 ft./min to generate coil ODs to 72 in. It was designed to process surface-critical coated and bare carbon steel, 300- and 400-Series stainless steels, and aluminum alloys from 0.005 to 0.075 in. thick.
