Balzers Ups Tool-Coating Capacity

Balzers, Inc., Amherst, NY, has installed a sixth coating vessel at its coating center in Agawam, MA. With the new vessel, the Agawam center will be able to run more batches and bring a 25 percent improvement in capacity, thus cutting turnaround time from 2.5 to less than two days for the company’s standard Balinit PVD coatings.

TriMas Creates Fastening Systems Group

TriMas Corp., Bloomfield Hills, MI, has created the Fastening Systems Group (FSG), consisting of two businesses that were part of the company’s Industrial Specialties Group: Lake Erie Products and Monogram Aerospace Fasteners, Inc. The new group manufactures ferrous, nonferrous and special-alloy fasteners and provides specialized metallurgical and finishing services to a variety of customers. Executive appointments to FSG include Terry Campbell as president, Dave Gibson as vice president of operations, Ed Zelaski as sales and marketing vice president and Jim Zils, vice president of engineering and quality assurance.
