Kelly Aerospace Thermal Systems LLC, Willoughby, OH, will receive a $350,000 grant from the State of Ohio for further development of de-icing technology targeted for use on wind-turbine blades as well as jet-engine blades. The firm manufactures the Wind Turbine Ice Protection System, an electro-thermal system that can be adapted for use on any wind-turbine design. The company makes ultrahigh-pressure waterjet-cleaning and abrasive-waterjet-cutting machines. The expansion follows the firm’s recent award of a multimillion-dollar contract from Airbus.
