The 76th CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturing Association) Engineering Conference is slated for May 18-21 at the LaPlaya Beach Resort in Naples, FL. Included on the agenda is a 3-hr. project-management course aimed at helping attendees overcome challenges presented by the increased level of engineering, integration and management complexity within the conveyor industry. Visteon Adds VisualPlant Manufacturing Software

Automotive supplier Visteon, Inc. is expanding its installations of VisualPlant manufacturing software to 23 plants in North America and Europe. The software, from Executive Manufacturing Technologies Inc., London, Ontario, Canada, currently is in use at seven Visteon plants for product tracking, and machine and production monitoring. The software offers a live, direct and secure connection from employees’ desktop computers to machines on the plant floor with a simple interface, according to company officials.

Tube & Sheet Hydroforming Conference

On June 18-19, Ohio State University’s Engineering Research Center for Net Shape Manufacturing (ERC-NSM) will present Recent Developments in Tube & Sheet Hydroforming 2003. The short course, workshop and conference will be held at the Blackwell Inn in Columbus, OH.
The short course will offer fundamentals and applications for sheet and tube hydroforming including discussions on materials, effects of friction, tooling, equipment, product design and process simulation. The workshop and conference will focus on hydroforming case studies, developments in small- and medium-sized presses, new applications and process simulation. Also included is a visit to the ERC-NSM laboratory.
