Idled Plate-Steel Mill Coming Back Online

Mittal USA, Chicago, IL, announced last week plans to restart its idled plate mill in Gary, IN, due to strong demand. The 160-in. plate mill, modernized in 1990, is targeted to open in September 2007. It can produce plate to 150 in. wide in lengths to 1500 in.

Arku Coil Systems, Inc. has a new office with warehouse, show room and repair shop in Cincinnati, OH. The move from Sterling Heights, MI, to Cincinnati was made to better serve its customer base—Arku says that it is now 4 to 5 hr. from 80 percent of its customers.
