Minster Moves European Customer-Support Center

The Minster Machine Co., Minster, OH, has relocated its Customer Support Center for Europe from Stuttgart to Halblech, Germany. With more than 3000 presses installed in Europe, Minster credits the support center, in place since 1991, as key to its continuously expanding European presence. The Halblech location is a fully staffed parts and service facility, complimenting a sales and application-support office in Belgium and a contracted remanufacturing facility in England.
Ford Embarks on Canadian Buying Spree

By 2005, Ford Motor Company plans to increase spending among Canadian suppliers by 56 percent, according to a recent report published at www.crainsdetroit.com. The move leverages favorable U.S.-Canadian exchange rates and avoids tariffs on parts exported from other countries. Alain Batty, CEO of Ford of Canada, announced the plans in an April 29 speech to the Canadian Auto Parts Manufacturers’ Association.
Rockwell Adds Machine-Safety Consulting

Rockwell Automation, Milwaukee, WI, has added consulting services to its portfolio of safety and automation products and services for machine safeguarding applications. Included in the new services are safety compliance audits and risk assessments for machines that must meet North American safety standards such as those forwarded by OSHA, ANSI and others. Consulting expertise offered by Rockwell also includes risk-reduction planning.
