Kryton Engineered Metals, Cedar Falls, IA, has added two laser-cutting machines to its production floor. Now on the floor at the to the metal-spinning and fabrication shop: a Cincinnati CL920 slab fiber laser-cutting machine with a 6- by 12-ft. workpiece capacity; and a Rofin UW505 five-axis fiber-laser system designed for cutting and welding of 3D parts and assemblies. Kryton also plans to add a robotic polishing cell that features a Fanuc R2000 robot; and a robotic metal-spinning cell featuring a CNC Autospin 2030 spinning machine tended by a Fanuc R1000i load/unload robot.
