The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, OH, has added more than 400 American Welding Society (AWS) typical Certificates of Conformance to its website, www.lincolnelectric.com
. Customers now have 24-hr. access to certifications for every standard Lincoln electrode or electrode/flux combination. The certificates are typically used for quality-assurance reporting, specifying electrodes and to provide engineering data such as strength and composition of products.
Bystronic Acquires Maker
of Press Brakes and Shears

Bystronic, Inc., Hauppauge, NY, has acquired the Beyeler Group, a European manufacturer of press brakes and plate shears based on Gotha, Germany. The Beyeler line closes the gap between the high-end Hammerle press brakes and the manual press brakes and shears offered by Bystronic’s AFM Group, acquired early in 2002.
AIDA to Streamline its UK Facility

AIDA Engineering UK Ltd. will be restructured as a sales, engineering, service and spare-parts facility, with its manufacturing operations to be closed this summer. The restructuring comes in response to the UK’s declining manufacturing market, expensive currency and ongoing migration of AIDA customers to central Europe and Asia. At the same time, the firm expects to double the size of its sales and service office in Paris, France, this year.
