to Open Stamping Plant in South Carolina

McGregor Brothers Holdings, Springfield, OH, will soon open a $10-million metal-stamping plant in Aiken, SC, to be called S.C. Metal Products. The plant will inhabit a refurbished 50,000-sq.-ft. building and will employ 15 to 20 by late summer. Plans are in the works to expand the facility to 72,000 sq. ft. McGregor Brothers Holdings is owned by Dan and Jim McGregor, who also own four metalworking companies employing more than 410 people in Ohio.

New Hydraulic Roller Leveler

Toll processor The Material Works, Red Bud, IL, will soon install a hydraulic roller leveler from Butech, Inc., Salem, OH, on a 72-in.-wide coil-to-coil strip-cleaning line. The leveler features a quick-change cassette system for changing roll diameters. Drive spindles automatically align with the work rolls through a vision system, reducing roll-change time to 10 min. or less. The heavy-gauge cassette holds 17 3.5-in.-dia. work rolls for stock 0.10 to 0.25-in. thick; the light-gauge cassette holds 23 1.9375-in.-dia. work rolls for material 0.030 to 0.125 in. thick.
