Greenerd Delivers Large-Bed Press to Rheem

Greenerd Press & Machine Co., Inc., Nashua, NH, has supplied a large-bed hydraulic press to Rheem Manufacturing Air Conditioning Division, Fort Smith, AR. The new machine, replacing a mechanical press, will form, blank and punch a variety of air-conditioner parts for Rheem.
The 150-ton press features a 144 by 48-in. bed offering daylight of 24 in. and an 18-in. stroke. It enables an operator to center-load dies, and its 6-in. color touchscreen control stores all press parameters for as many as 150 jobs.

Twenty associations serving manufacturers in Minnesota have joined forces as the Minnesota Manufacturing Coalition. The coalition will enable the associations to speak with one voice on common issues and strive to gain the attention of state and federal policymakers. PMA member and past district director Erick Ajax helped to form the coalition, along with Charles Arnold, executive director of the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA). The coalition plans to hold bi-monthly meetings. Among its members are the PMA, MPMA, American Machine Tool Distributors Association, Minnesota Association of Metal Finishers, National Association of Manufacturers and National Tooling & Machining Association.
