Die Maker Installs Servo-Feed Unit for Die Tryout

Automotive diemaker Ronart Industries, Inc., Detroit, MI, has installed a new servo-feed unit and a motorized centering reel to enhance its die-tryout capabilities. The system, engineered and built by Dallas Industries, Inc., Troy, MI, includes a pull-thru straightener mounted on the feed unit, and can handle coils to 20,000 lb and 60-in. diameter. The servo feed, a Model DRFS-878, features a cluster gear drive and 20hp variable-speed motor. Three U.S. Steelmakers Announce Price Hikes

A report from Reuters has AK Steel, Allegheny Technologies and J&L Specialty Steel all hiking prices in the next few days. The Allegheny Ludlum unit will, on April 6, raise prices on all stainless-steel flat-rolled products by 4 to 6 percent; J&L will follow suit with a similar price hike on April 7. Then, on April 15, AK Steel will add 7 percent to its current price for flat-rolled non-oriented electrical steel products.
