Schuler Partners to Launch New Forming Process

Schuler Hydroforming GmbH & Co., Wilnsdorf, Germany, has entered into a strategic agreement to market the heatforming (Hot Expansion Air Technology) process developed by HeatForm GmbH, Wiesbaden, Germany. The technology uses inner pressure to form pre-warmed hollow shapes, reportedly offering increased metal deformation at reduced cost when compared to conventional hydroforming. Schuler Hydroforming will offer the heatforming lines exclusively worldwide, and support customers with die construction, prototype development and contract manufacturing. Learn more at

San Antonio Toyota Plant
to House a New MetoKote Coating Center

Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. has selected MetoKote Corp., Lima, OH, to design, install and operate a Custom Coating Service Center at its new San Antonio, TX assembly plant, where it builds the Tundra full-sized pickup truck. The center, to employ 40 to 50 people, will electrocoat Tundra components manufactured by other on-site suppliers. Limited production begins this month, with full production slated for November, 2006. MetoKote is online at
