Motor City Stamping, Chesterfield, MI, will soon begin operating a new Minster E2H-1200 press equipped with a 40-ft-long Super Mag maintenance-free beltless magnetic conveyor from Magnetic Products Inc., Highland, MI. The 1200-ton press, with link drive, offers a 24-in. stroke, 240- by 108-in. bed, 61-in. vertical opening, and twin rolling 20-ft. bolsters. Wayne Trail Technologies, Fort Loramie, OH, equipped the press with a 400-lb.-capacity transfer system. Quick die change comes via a die cart from Serapid USA, Sterling Heights, MI.
High-Speed Slitter Headed to Russian Center

Chicago Slitter, Itasca, IL, has sold a high-speed 72-in. slitting line to Moscow steel-service center Stalprokat. The line features a five-high precision leveler and three quick-change indexing slitter heads. A 50,000-lb. recoiler features interchangeable drums. UK to Host Cold Forming Congress

The 11th International Cold Forming Congress will be held September 12-14, 2005, in Chester, United Kingdom. Held every five years, the theme for this edition is “Optimum metalforming solutions for competitive global manufacture.”
The congress will focus on developments within the automotive industry and the use of metalforming technology in body in white, engine/transmission, suspension and steering. The technical program will feature intentions and requirements of vehicle manufacturers and the methods used to achieve them. Each program topic will include Tier One presentations followed by supplier contributions related to equipment, tooling and materials development.
