Coe Coil-Feed Lines Installed to Support Heavy Blanking

Two facilities of Liberty Steel—Warren, OH, and Saltillo, Mexico—have recently installed new coil-feed lines from Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, MI. The lines are specified to process high-strength (to 85,000 PSI yield) steel, with maximum line speed to 100 ft./min. The Saltillo line can process material to 0.210 in. thick and 54 in. wide; the Warren line can process steel to 0.250 in. thick and 42 in. wide. Steel-service center MidWest Materials, Perry, OH has been named a select finalist for the Platts 2014 Global Metals Award (http://gma.platts.com/
/) in two categories: Metals Mover of the Year, and CEO of the Year (Brian Robbins). Winners will be announced in London, England, on May 21, 2014.
Also, American Metal Market named MidWest Materials as a finalist for its 2014 AMM Awards for Steel Excellence, in the category of Service Center of the Year. Those awards will be announced and presented in New York City on June 17, 2014.
