Red Bud Slitting Line Headed to Germantown, WI
Monday, April 21, 2003
Basic Metals Inc., Germantown, WI, a service center specializing in processing of aluminum and stainless-steel alloys, has increased its slitting capacity by investing in a new Red Bud slitting line capable of processing coils to 60-in. wide and 40,000 lb., of material to 0.190 in. Line features that promise to reduce setup time and simplify operation include a Camber Trac system that allows the slitting head to move in relationship to the material, preventing the introduction of additional camber; and constant-passline slitting that automatically positions the top and bottom slitter knives so both are centered relative to material thickness.
