Forum to Probe Future of Steel Industry

As part of AISTech 2005-The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition, top executives from the steel industry will take part in a Town Hall Forum in Charlotte, NC. On May 10, executives from Nucor, Steel Dynamics, Dofasco and more will gather at the Charlotte Convention Center to discuss global steel-industry consolidation; China’s growing output of, and appetite for, steel; and other issues.

Fastener Show Hits Baltimore in May

The 25th Annual National Industrial Fastener Show/East will be held May 4-5 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. The expo will feature fastener-production products and services from more than 210 companies in more than 22,500 sq. ft. of exhibit space. Included is Fastener Specifications & Technology, a seminar slated for Wednesday, May 4, followed by a free welcoming reception open to all registered show attendees. Thursday, May 5, the one-day expo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Servo Tandem-Roll Feed

Press Room Equipment Co., Springfield, MO, recently shipped an electronic servo-driven tandem-roll-feed system to a manufacturer of storage rack systems. The system features two electronic servo-driven roll feeds mounted on the entrance and exit side of the customer’s press. The feeds have special profiled rolls designed to feed 40-ft.-long channel material through a punching and shear station in the press. The punching and shear stations are controlled electronically through the controls on the roll-feed system.
