New Metalforming-Training Lab to Open in Anoka, MN
Monday, April 20, 2009
The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Twin Cities District in Minnesota has partnered with Anoka Technical College, Anoka, MN, to create a new metal-fabrication laboratory for training incumbent and prospective employees. The lab will be stocked with nearly $1 million worth of donated fabrication equipment, including an Amada press brake, laser cutting machine and turret punch press. PMA Twin Cities District members serve on the program’s advisory committee and helped develop the training curriculum.
Anoka Technical College is putting the finishing touches on the lab to prepare it for the school’s fall semester. Tuition is discounted for PMA members in the Twin Cities area. The program complements PMA’s work with the Punch Press M-Powered program at Hennepin Technical College in Brook Park, MN. And, the college is working on a new sensor-training program based on its newly donated Wintriss SmartPac control.
