and six other companies) Buys Superior Fabrication

Superior Fabrication, Inc., Kinross, MI, supplier of forklift masts and MIL-spec fabrications, has been purchased by The Reserve Group, Akron, OH. Under new ownership, the firm is expected to grow into other markets and expand its production. The Reserve Group, a diversified management company, operates automotive stamper Spartanburg Steel Products, container manufacturer Spartanburg Stainless Products, deep-draw stamper Scotland Mfg., and four other companies.

Orchid Automation Partners with Noble Engineering

Orchid Automation Group Inc., Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, has formed a strategic partnership with Noble Engineering Co., Shelby Township, MI, to distribute and integrate Noble’s in-press transfer systems. The agreement, announced March 30, 2004, at METALFORM Louisville, aims to meet the growing demand that Orchid has seen for products from its automation and press divisions, says company president Grant Bibby. Noble designs and manufactures mechanical, servo-mechanical and servo transfer systems, complimenting Orchid Automation Group’s product mix that includes quick-die-change equipment, automatic storage-and-retrieval systems, end-of-line conveyors, turntables and rack-handling systems. Precision Roll Grinders Rolls Out New Plant

To upgrade its ability to offer roll-grinding and repair services to North American manufacturers of steel sheet, aluminum and other materials, Precision Roll Grinders has opened a new 30,000-sq.-ft. plant in Texarkana, AK. The new plant joins other PRG plants in Allentown, PA (company headquarters), Carrolton, GA, and Lewisport, KY. It can work on rolls from 2- to 102-in. dia., up to 600 in. long and weighing to 240,000 lb. Complete services include leak testing, dynamic balancing and vacuum testing.
