Columbia Metal Spinning Earns ISO Registration

Chicago-based Columbia Metal Spinning has been registered to ISO/TS 16949:2002. The family-run business, founded in 1952, specializes in the production of close-tolerance precision metal components for customers in the oil-seal, automotive, aerospace and cryogenic industries. It offers rapid-prototype development and short-run production using stamping presses to 110-ton capacity, hydraulic presses to 250 tons, CNC machining centers and a full inhouse tool-and-die department.
Mayfran Opens China Plant

Shanghai, China is home to a new 37,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing plant for Mayfran Intl., Cleveland, OH. The plant, operated as Tsubakimoto Mayfran Conveyor (Shanghai Ltd.), is Mayfran’s sixth—other plants (in addition to its headquarters in Cleveland) are in The Netherlands, Japan, Korea and India. Initially, the firm will use the Chinese facility to manufacture large-scale stamping-scrap conveyor systems and conveyors and separators for machine-tool applications. Learn more at

Automatic Feed Partners with German Firm
to Supply Service Centers

Coil-handling and press-feed automation equipment supplier Automatic Feed Co., Napoleon, OH, has joined forces with Heinrich Georg GmbH Maschinenfabrik, Kreutzal, Germany, to create Georg Automatic Feed (GAF) Ltd., Columbus, OH. The new joint-venture company will focus initially on providing coil-processing equipment—slitters, multi-blanking machines and processing lines--to U.S. service centers.
