Illinois Stampers Consolidate

Laystrom Manufacturing Co., Chicago, IL, has acquired contract precision stamper Grant Industries, Elk Grove Village, IL, and plans to consolidate operations at Laystrom’s 65,000-sq.-ft. Chicago plant. Laystrom plans to employ many of Grant’s employees, including general manager Jim Scotkowski.

New High-Speed Press Under Development

Uni-Guide Products by Humdinger, Inc., Philadelphia, PA, has partnered with Gasbarre Products, Inc., DuBois, PA, to assist in the design, development and manufacture of a 30-ton high-speed mechanical press. The companies expect to bring the press, in a range of bed sizes, to market by the end of 2003. Gasbarre (online at
www.gasbarre.com) operates two manufacturing facilities in DuBois for the design and manufacture of mechanical and hydraulic powder-compaction and sizing presses.
