Standard Iron to Open Fab./Stamping Shop in Nebraska

Standard Iron & Wire Works, Inc., Monticello, MN, is opening a new manufacturing facility in Grand Island, NE, in response to business opportunities in the Central Plains. The facility, with 20,000-sq. ft. of manufacturing space, is expected to offer significant production by mid-summer 2004. It will house a new 4000-w laser as well as a turret punch press, press brakes and welding machinery. In addition, the plant will contain short- to medium-run stamping capability. ITW Rocol Extends Licensing Agreement
to Produce Cedar Lubricants

ITW Rocol, a division of Illinois Tool Works, has extended its licensing agreement with Sugimura, Nagoya, Japan, which allows the company to continue manufacturing Sugimura’s Cedar Lubricants line in North America. The line includes metalworking fluids for use in automotive, appliance and machine-tool industries. These lubricants are manufactured at the ITW Rocol facility in DeWitt, IA.

Orbitform Buys Maker of Impact-Riveting Equipment

Orbitform, Jackson, MI, a manufacturer of orbital-forming and impact-riveting equipment, has purchased Milford Fastening Systems/Milford Rivet, Milford, CT, a maker of impact-riveting machines. The acquisition allows Orbitform to offer a larger selection of custom and standard riveting machines, including Milford-made pneumatic, benchtop, pedestal and fixed-center riveters as well as contact setters and assembly systems.
