Coil-Processing Seminars Slated for Canada

Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL, will host a pair of coil-processing seminars in Canada in April. On April 17, the seminar hits the Casablanca Winery Inn in Grimsby, Ontario; on April 19, the seminar hits the Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel in Montreal, Quebec, and includes a tour of Les Aciers Blais Inc., a local service center that recently installed a new cut-to-length line. Both seminars feature information on blanking, multi-blanking, leveling, slitting and new processes for hot-roll black material. Orchid Acquires 6th North American Stamping Operation

Orchid Intl., Brentwood, TN, has acquired R. Reininger & Son Ltd., Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, a third-generation manufacturer providing metal stampings and assemblies. The firm (, which will continue to operate under the Reininger name as “an Orchid International company,” operates a 204,000-sq.-ft. facility on 30 acres of land, housing more than 25 presses ranging from 100 to 800 tons. The acquisition grows the Orchid stable of North American operations to six—two in Ontario, three in the United States and one in Mexico. Orchid’s other Canadian plant, in Markham, produces assemblies primarily for the automotive industry. The firm expects eventually to consolidate that operation into the Reininger facility.
