Friday, March 07, 2008
Michael Dougherty, president of metal fabricator D&S Manufacturing, Black River Falls, WI, will be a featured speaker at Industry Week’s Best Plants Conference, April 1-3 in Milwaukee, WI. Dougherty’s presentation, titled Accelerate: A Powerful Model for OEM Supplier Development, is slated for Thursday, April 3, 10 am. He will describe an OEM supplier development model created in 2005 by a consortium led by the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Oshkosh Corp., John Deere Co. and Harley-Davidson. The four-step model combines the use of value-stream mapping and manufacturing critical-time path to eliminate production delays and determine a supplier’s order-fulfillment capabilities.
