NEWS FROM THE METALFORM SHOW: Dayton Progress Allies with LuBo

On Tuesday, March 5, Dayton Progress Corp., Dayton, OH, a subsidiary of Federal Signal, announced its alliance with Korea-based LuBo Industries. The alliance gives Dayton Progress exclusive rights to sell proprietary LuBo products--self-lubricating bushings, wear plates and other die components--worldwide. In other show news, Dayton Progress introduced three new products at METALFORM: the SmartStrip two-part polyurethane stripper; WedgeLock quick-change retaining system; and DayTools design software to ease the tool-design and drawing process. SSCI Broadens its Horizons

The Steel Service Center Institute, Chicago, IL, is now the Metal Service Center Institute (MSCI). Early in February its board of directors approved a plan to merge with the National Association of Aluminum Distributors (NAAD)--the proposal is under review. NAAD, whose members would automatically become members of MSCI, would become the Aluminum Products Division of MSCI. MSCI currently has 300 service-center members operating from 1000 locations in the United States and Canada, and 80 associate members.
