Ford Selects Crane Supplier for Tier One Status

Morris Material Handling, Milwaukee, WI, maker of P&H cranes and hoists, has become a Tier One supplier to Ford Motor Company. Ford has purchased more than 300 P&H cranes for its factories throughout North America, including the purchase of two new cranes within the last year for Ford stamping plants in Buffalo, NY, and Detroit, MI. Some 70 percent of Ford's stamping-plant cranes in North America are P&H models. Morris will be a preferred supplier for all of Ford's material-handling needs at its 30 North American facilities.

Lincoln Debuts Arc-Welding Website

Lincoln Electric Co., Cleveland, OH, has debuted a website designed to educate the public about the art and science of arc welding. The site,, is an outgrowth of the James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation. “We now can offer individuals access to detailed reference materials as well as immediate answers to their welding questions,” explained Scott Funderburk, foundation secretary. Website benefits include a variety of educational resources available for purchase; an online version of Welding Innovation, a semi-annual publication; technical articles; and information on various welding competitions

ISO Certifications Announced

Metal stamper Three Star Mfg. Co., Inc., Westchester, IL, has earned ISO 9002 certification. Progressive Tool Company, Waterloo, IA, has been certified to ISO 9001:2000. The firm designs, engineers and builds custom metal-stamping and transfer dies.
