Installs New Stretch Leveler

Dalco Metals, Inc., Walworth, WI, has installed a new stretch-leveler cut-to-length line capable of handling panel flat and memory-free 80,000-psi yield-strength sheet products. The line, from Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, IL, is targeted at customers that laser-cut parts and components. It features a computer-controlled hydraulic roller-leveler equipped with exchangeable thin-gauge and heavy-gauge leveling cassettes, to eliminate strip cross-bow prior to the stretch-leveling process. Japanese Automotive Suppliers Still Operating

Despite the earthquake and tsunami, numerous automotive suppliers throughout Japan want the world to know that they are up and running, according to an article in Crain’s Detroit Business. Among the suppliers noted: BorgWarner, Delphi, TRW Automotive, Visteon and Denso, all with offices and plants relatively far from the quake’s epicenter. Also noted, however, are announcements from Toyota, Honda and Nissan to suspend production, expected to affect exports of certain models to the United States. Read the entire article here.
