Japanese Automotive Suppliers Still Operating

Despite the earthquake and tsunami, numerous automotive suppliers throughout Japan want the world to know that they are up and running, according to an article in Crain’s Detroit Business. Among the suppliers noted: BorgWarner, Delphi, TRW Automotive, Visteon and Denso, all with offices and plants relatively far from the quake’s epicenter. Also noted, however, are announcements from Toyota, Honda and Nissan to suspend production, expected to affect exports of certain models to the United States. Read the entire article here. Kyzen, Nashville, TN, has added a Rosink 850 parts cleaner to its applications laboratory. The unit, which made its debut at IMTS 2010, will allow Kyzen to test new cleaning formulations and help customers develop cleaning-process parameters. AutoForm Opens Brazilian Office

AutoForm Engineering, Zurich, Switzerland (and Troy, MI), has opened a new subsidiary in Brazil, and appointed Fabio Henrique Vieira the office’s general manager. The firm also named a new general manager for its office in Germany—Christof Stech, who replaces Dr. Bart Carleer, promoted to corporate technical director. AutoForm provides die-making and metalforming software for product manufacturability, cost calculation, die-face design and virtual process optimization;
