Free Press-Safety Briefings from Penmar Automation

Monday, March 15, 2004

Penmar Automation Inc., Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, has scheduled free Power Press Safety Briefings through mid-2004. The sessions discuss changing power-press safety regulations in Canada, specifically the CSA Z142-02 standard, which becomes mandatory in December 2004. Also included are live demonstrations of a 1960s-vintage 80-ton mechanical press outfitted with the CommandStamp press control unit. The unit is manufactured by Reflex Integration, a joint venture of Penmar and Soft Design Automation, and the demonstrations are designed to show that new press controls can help old presses meet the new safety standards on a cost-effective basis, according to company officials. The briefings, beginning at 10:30 a.m., will be held at Penmar’s headquarters on March 25, April 28, May 27, and June 24, 2004. For more, contact Jeff Ashcroft at 905/836-8103 or jeff@penmarautomation.com.
