Metal Service Center to Distribute Waterjet-Cutting Machines in New England

Aquajet Cutting Technology, Bloomfield, CT, a division of Aerospace Alloys Inc., will now distribute 2D and 3D waterjet-cutting machines from Techni Waterjet, Lenexa, KS, throughout New England. Aquajet, performs waterjet cutting, milling, turning, band-saw cutting and shearing. The firm recently opened up two showrooms—one in in the UK and another in Connecticut that houses a Techni Waterjet model Techjet 5- by 10-ft. cutting system equipped with a five-axis cutting head and a Quantum NXT  electric-servo pump 55s; www.techniwaterjet.com/. Weber Specialties Planning Expansion

A 30,000-sq.-ft. expansion is in the works at metalforming company Weber Specialties Co., Schoolcraft, MI, specialists in metal stamping, fabricating, tool and die build, assembly, welding and powder coating. The firm recently acquired 8.5 acres of land across the street from its headquarters facility. The expansion, with a targeted move-in date of April 15, 2013, will allow Weber to increase its assembly and value-added offerings, while its existing headquarters building focuses on engineering, stamping and tool and die; www.weberspecialties.com/.

Atlantic Tool & Die Adds Laser-Scanning Capabilities

To enable its engineers to digitally scan die sections, weld fixtures and inspection gauges, and then directly upload the information to machining centers and wire-EDM machines, Atlantic Tool & Die Co., Cleveland, OH, has added a portable Faro Arm measurement system equipped with a laser-scanning head.
