Utah Steel Processor Orders New Leveler Line

Braner USA, Schiller Park, IL, has received an order from Reliance Steel to design and manufacture a hydraulic cassette leveler, servo roll feed and high-speed CTL shear for its Reliance MetalCenter in Salt Lake City, UT. The 300-hp leveler will be equipped with two interchangeable cassettes for leveling material from 72-in.-wide by 24-gauge sheet to 5/16-in.-thick plate of 90,000-psi hot-rolled carbon-steel. Schuler Press Lines Bound for Russia, China

Car manufacturing is Russia and China is booming, according to a press release issued by Schuler AG, Goeppingen, Germany. With annual growth rates of more than 20 percent, Russia is Europe’s fastest-growing car market, Schuler says. And, double-digit growth for China’s automotive market is expected for several years.
In December of 2007, Schuler completed the turnkey manufacture and installation of an automated warm-forming line, featuring a knuckle-joint press, for Russia’s largest car manufacturer, Avtovaz (a General Motors partner). The line will form parts for constant-velocity joints. In February 2009, Schuler supply the same type of line to Chinese auto-part supplier Huazhong Group in Shanghai.
