Moeller Precision Tool No Longer Land Locked

To launch its aggressive 20-yr. expansion plan built on a foundation of additional specialized machining equipment, Moeller Precision Tool has moved from its 37,000-sq.-ft. land-locked facility in Plymouth, MI, to a 77,000-sq.-ft. facility in Wixom, MI, with ample land to allow the company to double in size.  With the move to Wixom the firm has acquired seven new large pieces of machining equipment, and plans to add three more later in 2013. It’s also grown its employee count by 15 percent. Moeller Precision manufactures punches, die buttons, retainers and other piercing products, and nitrogen and mechanical gas springs. The firm also performs contract machining and 3D part digitizing;

Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton, KS, a manufacturer of magnetic products for material handling, flexible dies and other applications, named Sonia Cox director of marketing;

Seyi America, Tullahoma, TN, hired Rene Abelardo de Hoyos as its Mexico service technician manager. An expert in planning and executing preventive-maintenance programs, he’ll work out of Monterrey, N.L., helping the company “achieve its vision for the Seyi brand in Mexico,” says Seyi president Mike Madden.

Metal service center Central Steel & Wire Co., Chicago, IL, named three new territory sales managers. Ashton DeMaster takes over the newly created Wisconsin sales territory in Calumet and Winnebago counties; Jared Pivaronas will sell in Tennessee, Northern Alabama and Northern Mississippi; and Chris Bielski is the new sales manager for Louisville, KY.

Murata Machinery USA, Inc., Charlotte, NC, has hired Dan Baker as central regional sales manager. In addition to the central-U.S. states, he’ll oversee sales in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Canada. Murata manufactures turret punch presses and punch-plasma hybrid machines, software and automation equipment;


Technical College Students Welcome New Punch Grinder

Wilson Tool International, White Bear Lake, MN, has donated a specialty grinder worth $14,000 to Anoka Technical College, Anoka, MN. Students will use the grinder to learn how to sharpen punch-press tooling, helping to “provide the necessary skills that will help graduates find jobs in the sheetmetal industry,” says Chris Lawless, president of Wilson Tool;
