E & E Becomes First Stamper
to Win Prestigious Safety Award

On Tuesday, March 23, metalformer E & E Metal Stamping Co., Plymouth, MI, will be recognized as the first automotive stamper in the nation to win the Star Award for excellence in occupational safety and health. The U.S. Department of Labor Assistant Secretary for Occupational and Health, John Henshaw, and other Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) delegates will present the award, which comes from the Michigan Voluntary Protection Programs. One condition for the award is a company having injury and illness incidence rates below industry average for 3 straight years. It covers five categories of a safety program: management’s commitment, employee involvement, a work-site analysis, hazard prevention and control, and training.
E & E runs a 250,000-sq.-ft. plant and boasts annual sales of $60 million. It manufactures heavy-gauge fasteners, progressive metal stampings and value-added assemblies.

Lytron Opens Canadian Service Depot

Chiller manufacturer Lytron, Inc., Woburn, MA, has partnered with Carmichael Engineering, a Canadian HVAC service company, to open a service depot and spare-parts warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario. The center will service, for Canadian customers, Lytron’s products including Kodiak recirculating chillers, large-capacity chillers and modular cooling systems.
