Macsteel Service Centers Adds CA Operation

Macsteel Service Centers USA has acquired Hokin-Katz, a metals service center located in Los Angeles, CA. The center will operate under the Hokin-Katz name under the Macsteel umbrella. Macsteel will relocate the flat-rolled business of its Western Division to this location. Hokin-Katz specializes in close-tolerance slitting and precision blanking of products including thin-gauge and surface-critical coated and noncoated steels. It supplies high-end niche markets. International Surface Preparation to Tap Latin Markets

Methods Machine Tools Adds L.A. Location
to Aid Marketing Alliance

Methods Machine Tools has added a new location in southern California. The facility, at 6200 Artesia Blvd., Buena Park, is part of a new marketing alliance between MA-based Methods and Sel Machine Tool Co., Union City, CA, a West Coast distributor and Methods representative. “Joining forces with Sel means we will have more engineers and service technicians to provide better response times, expert advice, training and technical support,” says Bryon Deysher Methods president. “In addition to a larger sales force, this alliance also means larger inventories of machine tools and spare parts (as well as a larger showroom).” Methods supplies precision machine tools, such as CNC machining centers and EDM machines, and accessories, and is headquartered in Sudbury, MA.
