Virtual Employee-Wellness Conference Starts Tomorrow

Beginning tomorrow (Feb. 6, 2013), will host a free two-day online conference to discuss employee wellness. Over the two days the website will host 16 webcasts and offer attendees an opportunity to network with industry experts.  Topics of discussion will include injury prevention, battling obesity, disease prevention, how technology is affecting wellness (with online challenges and monitoring), using social media, employee engagement (do you need to use incentive/reward programs), and outsourcing vs. internal programs.

Stainless Sales Corp., Chicago, IL, promoted Rose of Sharon DeVos to the newly created position of director of sales and marketing. Also, Neil Wolfe moves from the role of inside sales manager to outside sales manager, to focus on new-business development. Other personnel changes at the company: quality manager Rob Jaskula moves to inside sales manager, and Dan Wilson joins the firm as outside sales representative covering Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia;

Welding-equipment manufacturer Fronius USA, LLC, Portage, IN, announced several personnel moves: David Grant (northeast region) and Chris Bliven (central region) move from area sales managers to regional sales managers in their respective territories; Shaun Relyea moves from senior application engineer to tech support manager; and Wes Doneth, tech support manager, becomes area sales manager for Michigan and Indiana;

Miyachi Unitek Corp., Monrovia, CA, a manufacturer of res-stance-welding equipment and laser systems, named David Fawcett president and CEO; hew previously serve the company as CEO of Miyachi Europe Corp;

Central Steel and Wire Co., Chicago, IL, hired Al Kozler as territory sales manager for North central Michigan;

MultiCam Inc., Dallas, TX, a manufacturer of CNC controls for cutting equipment (laser, waterjet, plasma, etc.) appointed John Wilson digital finishing product manager;




Trumpf Christens Microprocessing Laboratory

Equipped to investigate micromachining and laser applications such as drilling, cutting and ablation, the new micromachining-application laboratory at the headquarters of Trumpf Inc., Farmington, CT, promises to get a lot of attention from the medical, electronics and aerospace industries, to name a few. The lab includes the firm’s short-pulse laser systems--the TruMicro Series 5000 and 7000--and a diagnostic station where applications engineers can analyze and document feasibility tests and perform time studies.
