Seyi, Wintriss Combine to Develop
High-Speed Automated Stamping Line
Wednesday, February 03, 2010
Seyi America, Tullahoma, TN (www.seyiamerica.com
), has completed the runoff of a pair of its SH2-50 high-speed presses as it nears completion of a joint venture undertaken with its primary controls supplier, Wintriss Controls, Acton, MA. The 50-ton-capacity presses, with speed capacity to 700 strokes/min., anchor an automated, turnkey production system and will be the first Seyi presses of their kind installed in the United States, according to Seyi officials.
Included in the line is a Wintriss WPC 2000 clutch/brake control outfitted with a SmartPAC2 automation control with built-in Internet connectivity. An Allen Bradley Micrologix 1400 programmable controller will direct the payout reel, pullthrough feeder, loop control, parts washer and rewind reel. The main motor will be controlled by a Delta variable-frequency drive with a two-bank resistor braking system. And, to minimize heat buildup from the high-speed presses, each machine features a recirculating oil cooling/heating unit.
