Tull Metals Installs New Tube-Mill Entry End

Thursday, February 28, 2002
Guild International, Bedford, OH, has designed and installed an integrated entry system for feeding coil into a 3.5-in.-OD by 0.180-in.-wall tube mill at Tull Metals Processing, a division of Ryerson Tull in Norcross, GA. The new entry system allows one operator to handle the entire entry end of the mill. It includes a 15,000-lb. double-arm uncoiler with automatic tail out, automatic rotation, and hydraulic feed-up drives. A Speed Funnel guides new coil into a Zipwelder that aligns coil ends, shears the ends square and welds them together. The system went online in October 2001. Learn more at www.guildintcom.
