Truex Achieves ISO Registration

Truex Corp., Pawtucket, RI, a manufacturer of custom deep-drawn stampings of brass, stainless and mild steels, has achieved ISO 9001:2000 registration for its manufacturing facility. The new certification is an upgrade from its previous ISO 9001:1994 compliance, with “a greater emphasis on employee involvement rather than simple documentation,” says Truex quality/EHS manager Mark Buchan. with Wastewater-Treatment Specialists

Specialty-chemical provider Chemetall Oakite, Berkeley Heights, NJ, has formed a strategic partnership with DMP Corp., Fort Mill, SC. DMP provides design and manufacturing of wastewater-treatment systems. Chemetall Oakite develops chemical products for metal fabrication, coil coating, cold forming and other applications. Taylor Steel Expands, Adds
Herr-Voss Multi-Blank Line

Taylor Steel Inc., a service and toll center for flat-rolled steel products, is expanding its Lordstown, OH, processing plant, adding 118,000 sq. ft. to its existing building for a total of 257,000 sq. ft. At the heart of the expansion, to be completed by April, is a custom-engineered multi-blank line supplied by Herr-Voss, Callery, PA. The line will use rebuilt entry and slitting equipment from an existing line along with new high-speed shear and stacking equipment. The line will process cold-rolled, galvanized and prepainted steel in thicknesses to 0.120 in. and widths to 74 in. from coils weighing to 60,000 lb.
