Taylor Steel Inc., a service and toll center for flat-rolled steel products, is expanding its Lordstown, OH, processing plant, adding 118,000 sq. ft. to its existing building for a total of 257,000 sq. ft. At the heart of the expansion, to be completed by April, is a custom-engineered multi-blank line supplied by Herr-Voss, Callery, PA. The line will use rebuilt entry and slitting equipment from an existing line along with new high-speed shear and stacking equipment. The line will process cold-rolled, galvanized and prepainted steel in thicknesses to 0.120 in. and widths to 74 in. from coils weighing to 60,000 lb. Taylor already operates two Herr-Voss lines at Lordstown and 13 more at a Canadian facility.
