Ebtec Installs New Laser-Drilling System

Laserdyne Systems, Champlin, MN, has delivered a Nd:YAG drilling system to Ebtec Corp., Agawam, MA, a supplier of parts to various North American industries. The Laserdyne 790XL BeamDirector is a six-axis laser driller with a work envelope of 40 by 40 by 40 in. and a 25-in.-dia. high-accuracy rotary table. Its software component helps deliver parts in rapid cycle times with improved flow consistency, according to Laserdyne officials.

Schuler Earns Silver Supplier Award
from Shanghai Volkswagen

Schuler AG has earned a Silver Supplier award from Shanghai Volkswagen in the category of General Procurement. The award recognizes Schuler for its supply of two triple-action press lines (lead hydraulic presses backed by mechanical presses) to the car company, which is using the lines to produce parts for the Passat passenger car in China.
