SteelSummit Tennessee Retrofits Blanking Line

SteelSummit Tennessee, Lavergne, TN, has installed a multi-blanking retrofit for its existing Red Bud blanking line. The retrofit allows SteelSummit to multi-blank material in thicknesses to 0.135 in. and widths to 72 in. The system can produce as many as 13 blanks at one time. The retrofit includes Red Bud’s CNC programmable slitter with an automatic knife-locking system. Also included is a pallet-loading system from Red Bud, designed specifically for multi-blanking.
Ideal Products Acquires Pin-Making Competitor

Ideal Products, Beacon Falls, CT, has purchased the operating assets of competitor Patriot Wire Products, also of Beacon Falls. Ideal will relocate Patriot employees and assets to its 175,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility. Ideal, boasting annual sales of $10 million, manufactures fabricated metal components for a variety of industries. Patriot, with annual sales of $1.5 million, manufactures badge, safety and specialty draper pins.
Ideal is a division of Orbitform Group, Jackson, MI.
Epicor Awarded for Manufacturing Software

Epicor Software Corp., Irvine, CA, for the second year in a row, has been selected Partner of the Year by Progress Co., a supplier of business-application technology. Epicor received the honor by demonstrating success in the delivery of a range of end-user manufacturing applications based on Progress’ OpenEdge technology, according to Progress Co. officials.
