Coil-Processing Seminar Includes
Petersen Aluminum Tour

Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL, will host a coil-processing seminar April 27, 2010, at the Embassy Suites Hotel O’Hare-Rosemont, Rosemont, IL. Attendees will learn about blanking, multi-blanking, leveling, slitting, and new processes (SCS and EPS) for hot-roll black material. Speakers will include Dean Linders, Red Bud’s vice president of marketing; consultant Eric Theis, formerly of Herr-Voss; slitting-technology expert Al Zelt; and Kevin Voges, president of The Material Works and inventor of the SCS and EPS processes. The seminar will conclude with a tour of Petersen Aluminum in Elk Grove Village, IL, where attendees will view two Red Bud blanking lines in operation, processing prepainted aluminum and steel. ASAP Design Acquires Assets of Mercury Metal Craft

Prototype and short-run metal stamper ASAP Design Inc., Roseville, MI, has acquired the assets of Mercury Metal Craft, also in Roseville, to better serve its customers in the automotive, aerospace and military industries. Now called ASAP Design/Mercury Metal Forming, the company houses more than 50 hydraulic and mechanical presses from 5 to 800 ton capacity, and also offers manual and robotic welding, five-axis laser cutting, and press-brake bending;
