Aerospace Firm Expanding Mexican Operations

Precision Aerospace, Phoenix, AZ, has announced plans to expand its operations in Mexico. The precision machining and sheetmetal fabricator will move from its present space within The Offshore Group’s Bellavista Industrial Park in Empalme, Sonora, to a new 18,000-sq.-ft. plant in The Offshore Group’s Roca Fuerte Park in Guaymas, a neighboring community to Empalme. Indiana Metalforming Group Earns Training Grant

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has awarded a $196,500 grant to the Indiana District of the Precision Metalforming Association to fund two training programs: press-operator and die-setter certification, and advanced manufacturing certification. Vincennes University will oversee the programs; program administrator is the Indiana Business Modernization and Technology Corp. Eleven Indiana companies have enrolled 105 employees in the press-operator and die-setter classes, and 93 employees in the advanced-manufacturing classes.
