Cold Metal Products Transfers CMI Division

Friday, February 15, 2002
Cold Metal Products, Pittsburgh, PA, has begun processing strip steel and rod-and-bar stock for its CMI division at the Cold Metal Products plant in Indianapolis, IN. This follows transfer of processing equipment to that location. CMI had been based in New Britain, CT, but that location was shuttered last year. A pivotal piece of equipment at the new CMI location is an 18-in. slitter. Previously CMI work was done on a 25-in. slitter at the Indianapolis plant. Also installed is an automatic band saw for cutting specialty electrical core iron rod and bar. Cold Metal Products provides a range of steel-strip products for precision-parts manufacturers.
