Hydraulic Tryout Press Headed to VW Die Shop

The Volkswagen plant in Braunschweig, Germany, will soon have a new hydraulic tryout press in its die-making shop. The new press, a 16,000-kN model from Dieffenbacher, will have a moving bolster and a bed size of 5000 by 2500 mm. It will be equipped with a four-point drawing cushion, ram cushion, impact damping, ram parallel-motion control and a PC control system. The press should hit the floor in September 2008. Finn-Power Acquired by Italy's Prima Industrie

The board of directors of Prima Industrie S.p.A., Collegno, Italy, has agreed to acquire Finnish company Finn-Power, a manufacturer of sheetmetal-fabricating equipment. Prima manufactures 2- and 3-D laser-cutting machines. Finn-Power has headquarters in Kauhava, Finland, manufacturing facilities in Finland and Italy, and subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, the United States and Canada.
