Quality Tool, Inc., St. Paul, MN, a contract sheetmetal fabricator serving the medical, computer-hardware, telecommunications and defense industries, has installed a new servo-electric turret punch-laser combination machine. The machine, an Amada EMLK3610NT, combines 33-ton punch capacity and a 4000-W laser. It can process 10-ft. sheets without repositioning and deliver 400 hits/min. on 1-in. centers. Metal fabricator Prototech Laser, Inc., Chesterfield, MI, has installed a Trumpf TruLaser 5030 6-kW laser-cutting machine to enhance its capabilities for customers in the defense, automotive and other industrial markets. Worthington Steel Acquires Gibraltar Assets

The steel-processing business segment of Worthington Industries, Columbus, OH, acquired the steel-processing assets of Gibraltar Industries, Inc., in Cleveland, OH. The acquisition provides Worthington the ability to roll wider and lighter-gauge materials along with performing oscillate slitting. Included in the transaction are the equipment and inventory of the Gibraltar facility in Buffalo, NY, and a warehouse in Detroit, MI.
