MarkHon Inc., Wabash, IN, a precision custom sheetmetal fabricator has been awarded a three-year parts contract worth $3.5-4 million per year, procured through MarkHon’s membership in First Index Inc., a business-to-business electronic marketplace for custom manufactured parts.
First Index, at
www.firstindex.com, is a lead service as opposed to an anonymous online bidding service or auction, say First Index officials, so job shops can pursue customers that fit their niches. Suppliers also can collaborate on design features and production issues prior to submitting a bid.

Transpro, Inc., New Haven, CT, a manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket and OEM heat-transfer and temperature-control products for automotive, truck and industrial applications, has acquired Fedco Automotive Components Co., Buffalo, NY. Fedco manufactures copper/brass and aluminum automotive and truck heaters for specialty OEMs and aftermarket retailers and distributors.
The transaction, according to Transpro officials, provides the company with additional model coverage, patented product designs, enhanced production capabilities and opportunities to serve new heater customers.
